Welcome ! This is Sofia Başak

I am a folk herbalist, poetess, and a steward of the sacred wild. I am originally from west coast of Turkey, after a long journey set my roots in central Portugal.

​Large part of my daily practice consists of nature walks, creating and tending sacred space and searching for the best ways to engage and share topics on  interconnectedness through herbalism and myths.

I design seasonal online education modules at my school in Turkish. In Portugal, organising in person workshops which aim to re-member and remind the folk ways of taking care of ourselves has always been my priority. Creating a sacred connection with nature is as necessary as the breath we take. I enjoy guiding through the practices on foraging, seasonal medicine making, botanical healing and subjects on introduction to herbalism.

I highly value the concept of interconnectedness in my journey and invite my community to do so.
